Horn Concern is a national non-governmental organisation dedicated to addressing human rights, peace, social cohesion, democratisation, and governance challenges in Somalia and across the Horn of Africa. We collaborate with communities, civil society, and governance institutions to promote dignity, respect, and peaceful coexistence throughout the region.
Our work is now centered on four core activities designed to empower communities, build peace, and strengthen governance. Each area is crucial to our mission of fostering a society where individuals can live with dignity and self-reliance.
We actively work to promote and protect fundamental human rights, including the freedom of thought, conscience, and religion or belief. Our advocacy efforts aim to raise awareness, challenge discrimination, and ensure that the rights of all individuals are respected and upheld.
We engage with youth as agents of positive change. Our programs equip young people with the skills to mediate conflicts, promote dialogue, and build trust across diverse community groups. By fostering social cohesion, we aim to create a more peaceful and inclusive society for all.
We strengthen the capacity of local communities and civil society organizations to participate in democratic processes. Our initiatives focus on improving governance, promoting transparency, and ensuring that community voices are heard in decision-making, leading to more accountable and effective leadership.
We facilitate the creation of strategic networks and forums to encourage collaboration and shared learning. By connecting with local and international partners, we amplify our collective impact, share best practices, and work together to advance our shared goals of peace and human dignity.
At Horn Concern, we follow a simple approach: Invite, Invest, and Transform. We bring people together, build skills and resources, and create lasting change through peace and development.
