About Us

Horn Concern is a national non-governmental organisation working to address human rights/ FoRB, peace and social cohesion, democratisation, and governance challenges in Somalia and across the Horn of Africa. We work with communities, civil society, and governance institutions to promote dignity, respect, and peaceful coexistence across the region.

Our Approach
Horn Concern's approach is rooted in community empowerment. We achieve our goals by:
1. Human Rights Education: Providing communities with knowledge about their rights, enabling them to advocate for themselves and others.
2. Advocacy: Championing the rights of vulnerable populations and lobbying for policy changes that promote justice and equality.
3. Inclusive Engagement: Bringing together diverse groups, including communities, civil society organisations, and government institutions to work collaboratively on shared challenges.

By focusing on the above interconnected areas, Horn Concern seeks to build resilient communities and a more dignified, peaceful, and just society across the Horn of Africa.

Our Approach:

At Horn Concern, our work is anchored in a clear Theory of Change: Invite, Invest, Transform.

  • Invite: We bring communities, leaders, and stakeholders together, creating safe spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and trust-building.
  • Invest: We strengthen local capacities by equipping individuals and institutions with knowledge, skills, and resources to address challenges and seize opportunities.
  • Transform: We work toward lasting change by promoting peace, resilience, justice, and inclusive development, enabling communities to thrive with dignity.

This approach ensures that our initiatives are not only responsive to immediate needs but also sustainable and community-owned, leading to long-term impact.
